Objectives of the project were to provide with knowledge, tools and services to a large number of disadvantaged adolescent girls in slum areas in Dhaka . Nari Maitree has been implementing the project with the financial and technical support from UNESCO. The major components of the project were: group formation and development, Adolescent Family Life Education (AFLE), Non-formal Continuing Education (NFCE), health education with special emphasis on reproductive health, STDs and HIV/AIDS, skill development training for capacity building and credit support.

400 adolescent girls were enrolled at 7 Non-formal Education Centres (NFEs) to go through those components.
