Non-formal education constitutes learning opportunities for the vast majority of children, youth and adults in developing countries who are not reached by the formal education system.
Non-formal Education may take place both within and outside educational institutions, and may cater to persons of all ages. Depending on country contexts, it may cover educational programmes to impart adult literacy, basic education for out-of-school children, life-skills, work-skills, and general culture. Non-formal education programmes do not necessarily follow the 'ladder' system, may have varying durations, and may or may not confer certification of the learning achieved.
Developing Non formal education (NFE) information bank CD
The objective was to support NFE personnel of the government and NGOs to improve knowledge and skills on NFE and Literacy. Main activities were to accumulate good NFE and literacy materials which were developed in the past, to save all those documents and materials in Bangla and English into CD designed with user-friendly html pages, and to disseminate them with orientation workshops in 6 divisions in the country. CD includes about 160 useful documents of NFE and others. Click the link below to consult the NFE Info-Bank CD.
